SemBreak Drama '12

These are the bts pictures of our short film "15 Days" starring Ms. Nicole Ann Reyes. It was shot for five days during our sembreak. It's our first time to make a serious film that is why as beginners, our main goal here is to try and enjoy at the same time. 

I really wanted to make a film but I know I can't make it all by myself because I am not good in editing videos. So I called my friend Joanne San Pedro and asked for her help and she said that she's willing to help me. So there. I started creating the story. I told myself that I have to consider the time, place, the actors and our budget. 

When I finished the story, I asked my friend, Vince Guba if he can help  me too. It'll be hard kung kami lang dalawa ni jho. He said yes to me agad-agad.

Nicole, our main character, is my classmate before. I've seen their theater play and she can really act well. I asked her through facebook chat and she said yes to me. She's a nice girl, very professional, and never na late sa shoot. Nakakatouch pa nga dahil wala kaming binibigay na anything sakanya except sa food na pinoprovide namin every shooting day, but still, you can feel kay Nicole na she loves what she's doing kahit walang kapalit. So let me take this opportunity to thank you for helping us. I assume na mababasa mo to, I love you girl. Huggg! :)

Also, I'd like to thank everyone that has been part of this short film. I know hindi ito major short film, this is something na experiment lang namin, but still, you helped us.

To my friends Jillian Javier, Maffi Tafalla, Jhumel Villamor, Vanessa Lozada, and Angelique Trapsi, thank you. I know wala itong grades na kasama, naistorbo lang namin kayo, but still umarte kayo para sa amin. Na-appreciate ko lahat ng efforts nyo and salamat sa time. God bless you guys!

I'd like to thank the Quiapo kids, salamat sa pag arte. :) Sana ay nabusog namin kayo, and just wanna let you know na I've learned so much from you. :-)

Ang Malagim na Saturday Night

Last Friday (October 12,2012), nag overnight kami sa bahay ng groupmate ko. Mayroon kaming tinatapos na entry dahil sumali kami sa isang docu making contest. Saturday evening na natapos ang pag-eedit ng video, I decided na ako na lang ang magpass nito sa Ateneo. 

I feel sleepy the whole trip going to Ateneo. During the trip, my friend (BIANCA) texted me na sumunod ako sa Red Dragon because doon ang venue ng kanyang 18th birthday. I understand why late na sya nakapagsabe because she doesn't have time to prepare. 

I texted her, "baka hindi ako makasunod, on the way pa lang ako sa Ateneo", she (BIANCA) said, "basta try mo ha."  Napaisip ako. I said to myself na subukan ko, kasi nung 18th birthday ko naman ay nag effort siyang pumunta. And I love my friend so much, kaya kahit sleepy ako and all ay go lang ako.

Traffic ang inabot ko sa buong byahe. That night kasi ay may celebration ang Ateneo. But then, thank God dahil safe akong nakabyahe papunta sa Katipunan. 

While nasa LRT ako, napapapikit na mga mata ko. Hindi na tlaga kaya ng katawan ko na lumarga pa. I don't know what nag udyok sakin na tumuloy pa sa birthday. Tumawag ako sa close friend ko (EDMHAR), my purpose is to ask him if nasa venue na sya. He told me na wala pa siya at ipagpaalam ko siya sa mama niya. I said sige tutal naman ay papunta pa lang din ako. I went to their house para kausapin ang mom niya. I remember when my friend asked me kung ano bang susuotin niya. I told him to wear something casual lang, kasi ako naka super casual wear lang. Iniinsist ko sakanya (EDMHAR) talaga na magsimpleng damit lang. Sinunod naman nya ako.

So pumunta na kami (EDMHAR) ng Retiro, doon kasi located ang venue. When we came in, my friend (BIANCA) told me na sa bahay na lang nila kami mag eat. I think she said that because paclose nadin ang restaurant at super late na nga naman kaming dumating.

May dumaan na jeep at inarkila nila iyon. Super fun ang trip namin sa jeep. I was with my highschool friends (SACHAEL EDMHAR BIANCA RAM CHARLES HARVEY MAAN HAZEL LANCE BIANCA)  and napasarap kwentuhan namin. Nagloloko ang lights ng jeep, pag namamatay ang ilaw, naghihiyawan kami. Super fun tlaga kahit nakakatakot.

Nang dumating na kami sa house ng friend ko, naglapag siya ng wine sa table. We told her na hindi kami iinom. Mga 20 mins siguro kaming nagchikahan lang sa table. Napansin ko na yung isa kong friend (MAAN) ay sobrang tahimik. I asked why and what's bothering her. She told me na sleepy na daw siya. 

One of my friends (SACHAEL) said baka gusto naming mag Starbucks. I can't see why not. I told them na doon na lang kami sa Lucky Chinatown Mall, sure na bukas pa yun. He said naman na open pa din sa SM San Lazaro and on the way na rin kami pag pauwi na. Everyone agreed (Me HAZEL SACHAEL MAAN EDMHAR). Dahil ayaw tlaga naming uminom at gusto na rin naming makauwi, nagpaalam na kami sa friend namin (BIANCA). 

Sabay-sabay kaming naglakad papunta sa Aragon St. The whole walk namin ay puro kami tawa dahil sa jeep na nagstop at nagsabe ng "tara Padis!" 

May isa pang nabanggit sa amin ng "ano walkaton tayo?" And then tawanan nanaman. I don't know what nag pilit sa aming lumakad at walang nag ayang sumakay na lang kami ng cab or ng tryk. Lakad kami ng lakad kahit napapansin na naming madilim. Maan said na she's not feeling well daw. I said naman na baka nadudumi siya, we can go back sa house nila Bianca para doon na sya mag CR. She said na hindi siya nadudumi, hindi lang tlga maganda ang nararamdaman niya.

I can still remember how she (MAAN) said this to us habang naglalakad kami sa isang madilim na part ng Aragon St., tapat ito ng Paraiso court, "Huwag kayong lumingon, may multo dyan."

Then after 1... 2... 3... 4.. 5...

A man came wearing white na polo and super closed na helmet.... And there. I can't continue the story anymore... 

Kung ano man ang nangyare, narealized ko na lesson ito, para sa aming lahat. At mahal na mahal ko ang mga kaibigan ko, sobra. Salamat sa Diyos sa panibagong buhay na binigay niya sa amin. 

I pray na mwala na ang takot sa puso at isip ko...

Cinemalaya 2012

This year is my first Cinemalaya experience. I was able to watch a lot good films. Noon sa mainstream movies lang umiikot ang movie life ko, but now I'm very very glad to discover that indie films are also good and I think they are a lot better! 


Almost everyday we go to CCP to watch different entries. Halos CCP na ang nagsilbing house namin for a week. We're all lucky to be exposed and get to know different people in the film industry. It's so bongga that we can talk to the directors, actors, and producers of the film while we roam around inside CCP (Q and A on the spot!). 


I'm starting to enjoy college life (masscom life) because of all these things! Magastos, yes. Pagod, yes. But it's all worth it! :-) Thank you pamantasan kong mahal! <3
